Best noise ever: Formula 1 V10 engine
Erik D’Amato of Pestiside and I were at the Formula 1 practice session on Friday at the Hungaroring. I was advised to wear earplugs. I didn’t.
Good call.
These cars make a sound unlike anything I’ve ever heard. The track is on the bottom of a bowl 15 minutes from Budapest and the noise reverbates from the surrounding hills and gets amplified and it’s so loud you can’t keep a conversation. It’s an angry noise, a high-pitched furious scream, the engines are revving at 19,000 rpm and they’re telling everyone within earshot (which, in this case, is a few miles in every direction): WE ARE SO BLASTING FREE OF THESE CHASSIS AND WE’RE SO GONNA RIP YOU TO PIECES
